Margaret Warner is a senior correspondent and on-air anchor of public television's PBS NewsHour. She is also lead correspondent for NewsHour's overseas reporting unit, covering crucial events and their causes around the world. In recent years, she has reported from Bahrain, Egypt, Russia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Yemen, China, Kenya, South Korea, Brazil, and most major European countries. She was the 2008 recipient of an Emmy Award for her coverage in Pakistan, and also of the Edward Weintal Prize for International Reporting from Georgetown University's Institute for the Study of Diplomacy. She joined what was then The MacNeil-Lehrer NewsHour in 1993 after a decade at Newsweek as a political correspondent, a White House reporter, and the chief diplomatic correspondent. She previously reported for The Wall Street Journal, The San Diego Union, and The Concord [N.H.] Monitor. She is based in Washington, DC.
